The Second video from the Hattah Desert race held this weekend.
A quick video from the 2011 Hattah Prologue. The video was shot with the GoPro HD mounted on the chest harness ridden by Sports Camera rider Craig Vissochi. sportscamera.com.au sponsored the fastest prologue time won by Toby Price.
Video #1 from The Hattah Desert race run this weekend.
Sportscamera sponsored its first Hattah desert race and we had a lot of fun in the red dust / mud. This is some footage from the 2011 race - it was difficult to get a lot of “clean” footage because of the conditions on the day. Anthony Smidt on the KTM wore a GoPro on a Chesty and came 2nd in the Masters as well as 37th overall. Craig Vissochi wore the GoPro on his helmet as well as the chesty looking backwards. The GoPro on the helmet came off in a stack but some kind rider found it and handed it back in. Craig came 8th in the Masters and 86th overall.
Puppy dogs and good times, you can’t beat that!
We took the dogs down to the dam to cool down, so we decided get out the GoPro HD. The “Chesty” fitted the tail-waggers perfectly and we got some great footage for memories as you can see.
The cam and harness are available from us at sportscamera.com.au/
Music:
Track 1 - “Dog Days are Over” Florence and the Machine
Track 2 - “Dog” El Perro Del Mar
It was a hot day and we thought we’d take the dogs for a swim in the dam. We put the GoPro HD on the “chesty Mount” and put it in turn on Moritz (‘Bitser’ with some Rottweiler in there somewhere), Max (Ridgeback cross) and Rex German Shepherd) (We’ll have to sort a mini one for Albert (the poodle) next time, sorry Albert.
This trailer is a laugh and was an excuse to give Moritz his own feature. We’ll be doing a full edit of all the dogs and their antics soon. It’s one of the hardest ones to do so far as there are so many classic moments and working out which frames to put in is no mean feat!
Please sit back and enjoy the craziness that is the Sportscamera family.
Now you can film while your dive with your hands free! This is the world’s only dive mask that has an integrated waterproof digital video camera plus still photographs at 5MP. It operates to a depth of 10 metres (33’) and eliminates the need to carry an underwater camera. Ideal for snorkelling, free diving and speer fishing. Light attachment accessories available.
Doc took the mask out for a test run with his son Conor (Who is wearing the 5m rated Liquid Image Underwater Digital Camera Mask 5.0 Megapixels). The day was quite cloudy and the water here in Sydney was still recovering from recent rains. All in all we were very pleased with the result. The boys had a heap of fun as you can see.
Both Masks are available from us, as well as the heavier duty scuba mask, at sportscamera.com.au/liquid-image-underwater-masks-c-92.html

The new Bullet HD cam is super strong with an all alloy casing, is 30m waterproof and has a 170 degree lens.
The Bullet’s name comes from its aesthetically pleasing and aerodynamic shape.
One of the Bullet’s BIG features is its 12mp stills, making it the worlds first wearable camcorder with a 12.0 Mega Pixel still camera! This is the highest resolution in the market at this point.
Weighing in at only 83 grams, this cam is no lightweight in the performance department, shooting in HD at 720p. The value only gets better with two (2) rechargeable batteries included.
The footage you see here is on some pretty rough trails and we’re very pleased with how the cam handled the rocky gear.
The only downside for those into audio quality is that in order to make it so waterproof (30m) with a full aluminium housing plus sealed double O-Rings, the external sounds are quite muffled. If sound isn’t so important to you, then this won’t be an issue.
We found the cam handles the light changes quite well and, considering the price, it’s looking like people who like to give their cams a thrashing are going to be very pleased with this unit.
Through its small sleek design, the Bullet is easier to mount than other bulkier cameras. This also allows a wider variety of mounting options never seen before, such as our under-chassis shots in this vid.
You can find the Bullet HD on our Sportscamera page at sportscamera.com.au/bullet-hd-action-camera-p-452.html
For those unfamiliar with Louee’s location, Louee Enduro & Motocross Complex has a great range of accommodation, from camping to the budget priced Shearer’s Quarters up to the more luxurious Lue Station homestead.
Located near Mudgee in NSW Australia. Tom hosts a great set-up and you can find him at louee.net.au/
Music: Stone Temple Pilots “Vaseline”
Amongst many others, we took the Sportscam HD to Louee for some testing. It was mounted on the handlebars with the recording unit also strapped (taped) to the handlebars.
The Sportscam HD camera is a good quality budget full HD camera for video and still shots of great quality. It also has a good sized screen for setting up and reviewing your footage. Its 4 x zoom function is great for setting up specific shots too.
The camera is very easy to use and set up and comes with a range of mounts as well as two rechargeable lithium batteries.
It also comes with an external microphone, if you need more than its standard audio quality, which is more than acceptable.
